President Tsai Ing-wen has gone into isolation after a member of her family tested positive for COVID-19. So far, the president has tested negative on a PCR test and a rapid antigen test.
Tsai and her relative had lunch together on Monday at the Presidential Office building. Her relative tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. The president’s spokesperson says Tsai was sitting more than three meters away from her relative, and the table had plastic dividers separating the people eating.
Tsai is now undergoing 10 days of quarantine. The president’s office is counting that from the day of the lunch, meaning Tsai will finish her quarantine period on April 14.
