Proof of vaccination with three doses of a COVID vaccine will soon be necessary for people in Taiwan taking part in high-risk activities. Health officials said on Monday they are planning on rolling out the requirement gradually. But the timeline for the roll-out is unclear, and authorities did not say which activities qualify as high risk.

Right now, the three-dose requirement applies to employees and customers at adult entertainment venues. Those venues include nightclubs, massage parlors and karaoke bars.

The Central Epidemic Command Center says it is planning to expand that to all activities where people come into contact with strangers, or where effective social distancing is impossible.

Workers at a high risk of spreading the virus will also need to show proof of having three COVID shots.

Taiwan’s third-dose vaccination rate is currently 52.34%.
