People going to the gym in Taiwan will have to prove they have been triple-vaccinated against COVID-19, starting next Friday. The Central Epidemic Command Center says the same applies for people going on religious processions or traveling with a tour group.

Taiwan’s move to tighten vaccination requirements comes after the country reported more than 1,000 local cases of COVID for the first time since the pandemic began.

Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says workers in a wide range of sectors will also have to show proof of three vaccine doses starting next week. That includes medical workers, quarantine taxi drivers, police, soldiers and teachers.

Right now, 53.85% of Taiwan’s population has had three doses of a COVID vaccine.
