Taiwan reported 1,390 new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
More than a third of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 500 people there testing positive. Two hundred and seventy people in neighboring Taipei have also caught the disease, along with 187 people in Taoyuan.

Out of the 1,390 people confirmed with COVID on Friday, one person has moderate symptoms. He is in his 60s and has long-term health issues. The man has had three doses of a COVID vaccine. Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says he is in a stable condition.
Taiwan also recorded 90 imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday.
There were no deaths reported.
