COVID-19 (04/22): Taiwan reports 3,766 local, 93 imported cases
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for April 22, 2022.

Taiwan reported 3,766 new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. 

More than a third of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 1,325 people there testing positive. Another 739 people caught the disease in Taipei, while 588 tested positive in Taoyuan.

The number of cases in other cities and counties is as follows:

Hualien County: 100
Yilan County: 80
Tainan: 71
Changhua County: 57
Yunlin: 50
Hsinchu County: 48
Taitung County: 42
Hsinchu City: 23
Miaoli County: 23
Pingtung: 22
Nantou County: 10
Kinmen County: 5
Chiayi County: 4
Chiayi City: 2
Penghu: 1
Lienchiang: 1

Out of the 3,766 people confirmed with COVID on Friday, 11 have moderate symptoms and one has severe symptoms. The person with severe symptoms is a woman in her 90s. Doctors aren’t sure if she has any long-term illnesses. She has not been vaccinated against COVID-19.

The youngest person with moderate symptoms is a woman in her 60s who has asthma and diabetes. She has not been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Taiwan also recorded 93 imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. 

There were no deaths reported.
