COVID-19 (04/25): Taiwan reports 5,108 local, 113 imported cases
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for April 25, 2022.

Taiwan reported 5,108 new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. 

More than a third of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 1,861 people there testing positive. Another 1,050 have the disease in Taipei, along with 696 people in Taoyuan.

The number of cases in other cities and counties is as follows:

Taichung: 201

Hualien: 148

Kaohsiung: 126

Hsinchu County: 65

Tainan: 63

Changhua County: 53

Hsinchu City: 43

Pingtung: 33

Miaoli County: 29

Taitung County: 25

Nantou County: 18

Yunlin: 17

Chiayi County: 11

Chiayi City: 9

Lienchiang: 2

Kinmen: 1

Penghu: 1

Out of the 5,108 people confirmed with COVID on Monday, 15 have moderate symptoms and one has severe symptoms. The person with severe symptoms is a man in his 80s with a history of kidney and nervous system disease. He has had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The youngest person with moderate symptoms is a woman in her 20s. She has no history of illness and has had two doses of a COVID vaccine.

Taiwan also recorded 113 imported cases of COVID-19 on Monday. 

There were no deaths reported.
