Taiwan reported 6,295 new local cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
A quarter of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 2,076 people there testing positive. Another 1,302 have the disease in Taipei, along with 1,159 people in Taoyuan.

Out of the 6,295 people confirmed with COVID on Tuesday, four have moderate symptoms. All four cases had a history of other health issues. The youngest person with moderate symptoms is a man in his sixties with a history of chronic liver disease. He has had three doses of a COVID vaccine.
Meanwhile, the eldest person with moderate symptoms is a woman in her eighties with a stroke history. She has had three doses of a COVID vaccine.
Taiwan also recorded 44 imported cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
There were no deaths reported.
