COVID-19 (04/29): Taiwan reports 11,974 local, 339 imported cases
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for April 29, 2022.

Taiwan reported 11,974 new local cases of COVID-19 on Friday. Two more people have died as a result of contracting the disease.

More than a third of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 4,095 people there testing positive. Another 2,702 people in Taipei have the disease, along with 1,987 in Taoyuan.

The number of cases in other cities and counties is as follows:

Health authorities say two more people have died from COVID-19. The people were men in their 80s and 50s. Both had a history of nervous system disease. One man had received three shots of a COVID vaccine, while the other had had two shots.

As for the new cases, out of the 11,974 people confirmed with COVID on Friday, 29 have moderate symptoms and one has severe symptoms. The person with severe symptoms is a woman in her 80s with a history of nervous system disease. She has had three doses of a COVID vaccine.

Taiwan also recorded 339 imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
