Taiwan reported 15,033 new local cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Three more people have died.
More than a third of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 5,797 people there testing positive. Another 3,099 people in Taipei have the disease, along with 2,193 more in Taoyuan.

The three people who have died from COVID-19 are two women and one man in their 60s and 80s. They had a history of kidney disease, diabetes and cancer. The two women had received one dose of a COVID vaccine, while the man was unvaccinated.
Out of the 15,033 people confirmed with COVID on Saturday, 15 have moderate symptoms and three have severe symptoms. The people with severe symptoms are in their 50s, 60s and 80s.
Taiwan also recorded 116 imported cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
