Taiwan reported 44,294 local and 67 imported cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.
Health authorities also reported 12 COVID-related deaths.
The number of domestic cases confirmed on Sunday were 5% lower than Saturday.
Of the cases this year, 99.75% were mild or asymptomatic.
Contacts who were asked to isolate before May 7 will need to do the 3+4 plan if they are living with a patient. If they’re work or school contacts, they do not need to be isolated under new contact rules.
New Taipei City reported the most confirmed cases with 17,948 while Taipei City reported the second most cases with 8,213 cases.
