Taiwan reported 40,304 cases of COVID-19 on Monday. That includes 41 imported cases.
Health authorities also reported 12 COVID-related deaths.
At 40,263, Monday’s numbers are the third day in a row where domestic infections have surpassed 40,000.
New Taipei City reported the most confirmed cases with 14,179. Taipei City reported the second most cases with 7,057 cases, while Taoyuan City reported the third most with 6,358.

Monday’s reported deaths were aged between 50 and 100. All exhibited severe symptoms prior to passing.
As of Monday, 99.76% of Taiwan’s COVID-19 cases accumulated this year are mild or asymptomatic.
Of the 41 imported COVID-19 cases, 21 tested positive upon arrival in Taiwan, while 20 tested positive while in quarantine.
