MOFA: 71 countries and organizations support Taiwan’s inclusion in WHA
Taiwanese people around the world have been lobbying for Taiwan's inclusion in the WHA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says 71 countries and organizations have openly supported Taiwan’s bid to join the World Health Assembly. It adds that over 3,700 public figures and politicians have called for Taiwan’s inclusion in the annual event.

The 75th World Health Assembly is taking place in Geneva between May 22 and May 28. Taiwan has been barred from attending the event since 2016 due to pressure from China. Taiwan had attended the meeting as an observer from 2009 to 2016.

Taiwan has sent a delegation to the sidelines of the WHA, where it will host events  and make exchanges with health officials from other countries.
