Taiwan on Wednesday reported 88,247 local cases of COVID-19. Taiwan also reported 46 new imported cases. Another 122 people died from the disease.
New Taipei City saw the most new cases with 14,894. Taichung City saw the second most with 11,511 cases, followed by Kaohsiung with 11,499.
Another 122 people have died from COVID-19. Their ages ranged from less than one year old to over 90 years old. Fifty-five were unvaccinated and 115 had a history of chronic illness. Two of them were infants under 6-months-old. So far, twelve children 12 and younger have died from COVID.
Taiwan also recorded an additional 104 cases with moderate symptoms and 136 cases with severe symptoms.
