COVID-19 (06/02): Taiwan reports 76,967 local cases, 144 deaths
Taiwan's COVID-19 case numbers for June 2, 2022.

Taiwan reported 76,967 new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. One hundred and forty-four more people have died.

Almost one in six of the people with new cases of COVID are from New Taipei, with 12,910 people there testing positive. Another 10,707 have the disease in Taichung, along with 10,530 in Kaohsiung.

Another 144 people have died from COVID-19. Most of them were over the age of 80, but the youngest was just 9 years old. The young boy became seriously ill on Saturday and was rushed to the hospital. He had no vital signs when he arrived and doctors were unable to revive him.

An additional 413 cases of moderate or severe symptoms were added on Thursday.

Taiwan also recorded 19 imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.
