A new international survey has ranked National Taiwan University as the 21st best university in Asia. That’s according to Times Higher Education magazine, which published its results on Wednesday.
The new rankings included six Taiwanese universities in the top 100, with National Taiwan University ranking 21st, National Taipei Medical University 29th and China Medical University 35th.
Last year, National Taiwan University ranked 20th on the list. It has consistently ranked between 20th and 25th for the last four years.
Topping the list were two universities in Beijing, with Tsinghua University at No. 1 and Peking University at No. 2.
The magazine ranked a total of 616 universities in Asia, an increase in 12 percent from last year. Chief Knowledge Officer Phil Baty says this year’s list demonstrates the high diversity and excellence of universities in Asia.
