Taiwan reported 52,992 new local cases of COVID-19 on Monday. One hundred fifty-one more people have died.
New Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung accounted for the most infections with each city reporting over 7,000 cases each.
Another 151 people have died from COVID-19. Their ages ranged from less than 10 years old to over 90. Out of Monday’s reported deaths, 146 had chronic illness and 64 were unvaccinated.
Health authorities also reported another 31 imported cases of COVID on Monday.
