A report adopted by the European Parliament on Tuesday supports Taiwan’s inclusion in international organizations.
On Wednesday the Foreign Ministry welcomed the report. The ministry expressed deep appreciation for the EU’s recognition of Taiwan as a key contributor to peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
The report focuses on the EU’s security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. It follows similar resolutions passed by the EU earlier this year in support of regional and global stability.
The report expresses concern over stability in the Taiwan Strait and recognizes the threat Taiwan faces from China.. It says the European Union will work more closely with Taiwan to improve relations and support the country’s engagement in global forums.
The Foreign Ministry says this is the fifth resolution the European Parliament has passed supporting Taiwan this year.
