Taiwan and Slovakia signed a judicial cooperation agreement on Wednesday. The agreement seeks to strengthen bilateral relations through improved commercial and civil matters. Taiwanese and Slovakian officials signed the agreement during a ceremony at the foreign ministry.
The agreement focuses on civil and commercial matters. It builds upon a prior agreement between Taiwan and Slovakia signed in August last year.
Foreign Minister Joseph Wu praised the agreement as another ‘extraordinary milestone’ between Taiwan and Slovakia that signifies deepening cooperation and exchange.
Joining Wu at the ceremony was Justice Minister Tsai Ching-hsiang as well as David Lee, Taiwan’s top representative to Slovakia.
Deputy Speaker of the Slovak National Council Milan Laurenčík signed the agreement on Slovakia’s behalf. Laurenčík is currently leading a delegation in Taiwan for a six-day visit.
