Taiwan reported 66,119 new local cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. 123 more people have died from the disease.
Taichung has the highest number of new cases, with 10,210 people there testing positive. Another 9,625 have the disease in Kaohsiung, along with 7,857 in New Taipei.
A total of 123 people have died from COVID-19. They were all classified as severe cases, with 119 of them having a history of chronic disease, and 79 of them were not vaccinated with three doses of a COVID vaccine.
Out of the 66,119 people confirmed with COVID on Tuesday, 285 have moderate or severe symptoms.
Taiwan also recorded 70 imported cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
