Premier Su Tseng-chang says the government will administer swift and severe punishment to a company that imported counterfeit COVID-19 rapid test kits. Safeway OA Supply Company secured contracts to supply government agencies with US-produced COVID-19 test kits.
However, it was later discovered that the FlowFlex brand test kits the company delivered were actually from China. People who took FlowFlex test kits often found that the control line failed to appear.
Su blasted the company for making profits by putting people’s health at risk. He says Safeway OA’s actions are unacceptable and the company must be punished severely.
Su says the government will step up efforts to ensure medical supplies entering the country are of the highest standards.
