A man suspected of killing two people has handed himself in to police in Thailand. He’s wanted for questioning after a man and his pregnant wife were found bludgeoned to death in a Taoyuan parking lot.
The suspect — known by only his surname, Wang — was their business partner. All three are Thai nationals. Police suspect that Wang bludgeoned the couple to death because of a fight about money.
Investigators think Wang killed them in New Taipei City’s Tucheng District, stuffed their bodies in the trunk of a car and drove to the parking lot near Taoyuan’s high-speed rail station to leave them there.
Wang left on a plane to Thailand on June 9, the day before police found the corpses.
On Friday morning, the suspect, accompanied by his father, handed himself in at a police station in Chiang Mai.
Taiwan and Thailand do not have an extradition treaty, but Thai police say they’re ready to work with Taiwanese authorities on the case.
