Top Taiwanese chefs are set to tour the world to promote Taiwanese cuisine and tourism. That was the word from the government’s Overseas Community Affairs Council on Friday.
The chefs will travel to 23 cities throughout the United States, Europe and Africa.
At a press conference on Friday, the council’s Deputy Minister Hsu Chia-ching introduced the lineup of chefs and the culinary specialities they will be introducing to the world.
Hsu said that Taiwan’s cuisine is an unforgettable element of the country’s culture. She says bringing Taiwan’s food to the world is a great way to draw attention to Taiwan and to promote tourism as well. Hsu says she hopes that the chefs’ global food tour will enable them to make many friends around the world and attract people to Taiwan.
