Paratroopers from Taiwan’s airborne special forces conducted a regular training on Tuesday. By falling thousands of meters, they show Taiwan’s determination to protect itself.

Paratroopers slowly fall to the ground, keeping their bodies balanced and feet together to ensure a safe landing.

The next group is up, flying in C-130 transport planes to 1,250 meters of elevation. Once they hear their order, they jump out into the open skies.

The airborne special forces’ sixth branch conducts regular training. This one in Pingtung County’s Chaozhou Township included 60 soldiers divided into groups of seven to nine.

After the basic training is done, 12 instructors from the high-altitude platoon take the field. They jump from 5,000 meters before making a spectacular landing, leaving onlookers impressed.

One says it looks truly difficult.

Another says the display leaves him with hope for Taiwan.

While this drill may seem small, its meaning isn’t. By refining the abilities of its officers and soldiers, Taiwan is showing its determination to protect this land.
