A delegation of French senators arrived in Taiwan on Wednesday morning for a six-day visit. Vice president of the French senate’s European Affairs Committee, Cyril Pellevat, leads the five-person delegation. This is the fourth French parliamentary delegation to visit Taiwan over the last year.
According to the foreign ministry, the group will meet with Vice President William Lai, Speaker You Si-kun, and other high-level officials. The purpose of the group’s visit is to forge stronger cultural and economic ties with Taiwan.
This is the third time that Pellevat has visited Taiwan. He has previously come to the country in 2016 and 2017.
