It's certainly not every day that an international marching band takes over Taipei's Grand Hotel. But Thursday marked a special performance by Japan's famous Kyoto High School Marching Band.
The band has come to perform for Taiwan's National Day on October 10. Their show at the Grand Hotel was a sneak peek of the upcoming festivities and attracted a lot of attention. The marching band has toured all around the world and earned an impressive reputation since it was founded 61 years ago.
A total of 88 students have come to perform with the marching band. Some students say even though they don't have time to travel freely around the island, they're excited for the opportunity to try Taiwan's tasty treats.
People can also look forward to seeing planes and helicopters fly across Taipei skies as part of the National Day Parade. There have already been test flights in the days leading up to the holiday, so people can get a preview of what to expect.
All in all, this year's National Day is shaping up to be an exciting day of celebration.
