Taiwan's representative office in Seoul has called on South Korea to fully support Taiwan's participation in various international organizations. That came from Taiwan's envoy to South Korea Liang Kuang-chung on Thursday, in anticipation of Taiwan's upcoming National Day on October 10.
Liang says Taiwan appreciates South Korean initiatives to promote peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. He says Taiwan will continue to cooperate with South Korea and other like-minded countries in the future.
Liang says Taiwan's representative office in Seoul has been unable to hold a Taiwan National Day celebration for the past two years due to COVID-19. But this year they were able to resume the festivities and invite over 600 guests.
Liang says Taiwan and South Korea share the common goal of protecting freedom, democracy, and human rights. He says these core values strengthen economic resilience and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
