Premier Su Tseng-chang says the pandemic is not over even though Taiwan has opened its borders. Taiwan just ended its quarantine requirement for all arrivals beginning Thursday.
There have already been over 20 tour groups that have come to Taiwan on Thursday and 230 groups are expected to come by the end of the month. Premier Su says Taiwan welcomes these visitors but he reminds the public that all pandemic prevention measures must still be followed.
Su also says the government will continue to update the public on the state of the pandemic and relevant measures. Officials have said loosening pandemic measures depends on the number of COVID-19 cases, which has been increasing in recent weeks.
