RTI to host symposium on China’s Party Congress and future expectations
RTI symposium at National Taiwan University on October 24.

Radio Taiwan International (RTI) will hold a symposium related to China’s 20th Party Congress on Monday. China’s week-long Communist Party Congress will draw to a close on Saturday and the new leadership line-up will be announced on Sunday.

National Taiwan University (NTU) and RTI Chairperson Cheryl Lai will host the conference in NTU’s Alumni Hall. Experts on cross-strait relations, national defense, foreign affairs, and other subjects will meet to discuss the Party Congress results.

The line up of specialists includes Dr. Li-wen Tung of the Central Police University and Dr. Yujen Kuo of Sun Yat-Sen University.  The symposium will review the 20th Party Congress and provide in-depth analysis on what to expect during the next five years.

Speakers will address the Pentagon’s new assessment that China is moving to take control of Taiwan more quickly than anticipated and also discuss regional security. Experts will also assess how Chinese domestic politics, economic policy, and other issues might impact the future of its businesses and society.
