Taiwan and the US have signed three memorandums outlining international development and humanitarian assistance collaboration on Thursday.
In a press release on Thursday, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) announced that the TaiwanICDF (International Cooperation and Development Fund) and US Agency for International Development (USAID) will be collaborating in projects targeting Paraguay and Pacific Island Nations.
The three memorandums of understanding include international development assistance, humanitarian assistance, research in development and humanitarian fields, as well as capacity building and knowledge transfers. The two parties will cooperate on information exchange, sharing of practices, global activity initiatives, and joint research.
USAID and TaiwanICDF will be partnering with Paraguay's Ministry of Commerce and Industry to increase market efficiency and the pool of available resources, and improve the policy environment for micro, small, and medium sized enterprises in Paraguay. In the pacific region, USAID and TaiwanICDF will work together to strengthen climate and disaster resilience.
