President of Taiwan bank speaks at World Climate Summit
E.Sun bank president Joseph Huang

Head of Taiwan’s E.Sun Bank spoke at the World Climate Summit on the support from the finance industry for companies working to reach net zero emissions by 2050. The summit is part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The bank’s president Joseph Huang (黃男州) says Taiwan is vigorously developing offshore wind power because of the powerful winds in the Taiwan Strait. Huang says the government and private sector are working together to deploy renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaic power. He says he hopes that Taiwan’s green projects can be a reference for other island countries.

E. Sun Bank is the first bank in Taiwan and the third in the world to pass the Science Based Targets initiative for carbon reduction.
