The East of Taiwan exhibition highlighting Hualien and Taitung, or Huatong, culture aims to attract more domestic and international tourists. The event will run from Friday and over the weekend at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park.
The Tourism Bureau curated this exhibition to showcase the sceneries along Eastern Taiwan's mountain ranges and coastline. The event will have around 50 local vendors along with travel packages for purchase.
Bureau official Lin Hsin-Jen (林信任) says the goal is to attract around 6 million tourists by next year. Lin says the number of tourists is expected to gradually increase, and this exhibition will encourage tourists to explore Eastern Taiwan.
Starting in December, the East of Taiwan travel platform will also put content on their Youtube channel for tourists to digitally explore ways to visit the Huatong region.
