Taiwan's national science council met with German research institutes on Monday to discuss net zero carbon emissions strategies. National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Tsung-tsong (吳政忠) said he looks forward to future collaboration in energy and global technology.
Wu discussed energy policies with Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's incoming President Robert Schlögl. Wu said Taiwan is seeking international collaboration on carbon reduction and energy transition technology. Schlögl says they are open to a partnership.
Taiwan signed a long-term cooperation agreement with the Foundation in 2006. Since then, they have jointly created the Tsungming Tu award. This award recognizes foreign academics that have made significant discoveries and promotes exchanges with Taiwan.
