Taiwanese psychiatrist suggests how to avoid election stress disorder
Election stress.

Taiwanese voters will head to the polls on November 26 to cast their ballots for city  mayors, city councilors and borough chiefs. However, some Taiwanese people are known to suffer from “election stress disorder”, which could involve bouts of anxiety, depression, anger or insomnia.

Psychiatrist Yang Tsung-tsair (楊聰財) says sleep and weight are important indicators. Yang says a person should seek immediate medical help if he or she suffers from sleep disorders that continue for a week. He says the same goes for people who lose five to ten kilograms in two weeks.

Yang suggests getting together with friends, singing or exercising before and after the election to avoid election stress syndrome. Yang also suggests doing things that are more uplifting to calm the nervous system and help reduce anxiety.
