President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) says Taiwan looks forward to building a stronger partnership with the US state of Idaho. Tsai was speaking in a meeting with a US trade delegation led by Idaho Governor Brad Little on Tuesday.
Tsai says Taiwan and Idaho share close relations as trade partners. She says she is glad to see Idaho-based companies investing in Taiwan's people and resources. She adds Idaho and Taiwan are both working on renewable energy, semiconductors, and other innovative technologies. Tsai also thanks Little for supporting US legislations that are friendly towards Taiwan.
Meanwhile, the president also thanks the US government as a whole for keeping its promise to safeguard Taiwan. She said she hopes other countries will support Taiwan's global participation.
