Taiwan's National Central University and a local foundation have come together to produce the first calendar made from satellite images. The 2023 calendar will feature Taiwan's diplomatic allies, including Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and Haiti.
The calendar highlights Taiwan's assistance to its allies in promoting economic development, environmental protection, food security, and the fight against climate change.
The foundation's Secretary General Timothy T.Y. Hsiang (項恬毅) says the release of this calendar marks a moment of significance for Taiwan's diplomatic relations. He hopes the calendar will showcase the efforts Taiwan is making to help achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
Taiwan's efforts to help its diplomatic allies include utilizing technology to establish early warning mechanisms for floods in Belize, and improve forest management in Honduras, where nearly half of the country's land is covered by forests.
