Team members from RTI have made their way to Istanbul for a world forum hosted by Turkey's national public broadcaster, Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). This is part of a continued effort by RTI to strengthen ties with international media.

RTI's Vice President Li Ming-li (李明俐) and Vice Manager of Chinese programs Tseng Wei-min (曾偉旻) are currently attending the forum. They visited TRT for an interview.

Li says she is confident that radio is not a dying form despite concerns over its future amidst the changing digital landscape.  She says recent events including the COVID pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine have demonstrated the need for broadcast media.

TRT has its own Chinese language channel which led to discussion about the uniqueness of RTI and Taiwan. Li highlights that out of all the Chinese-speaking countries in the world, Taiwan is the only one with freedom of speech. RTI's content also includes a variety of Chinese dialects which is important in preserving Taiwan's diversity and history.

Li hopes to learn from Turkey on how they share their views with the rest of the world and celebrate the variety of opinions at the forum. She is confident that TRT and RTI will have opportunities to work together in the future.
