Taiwan's unique cultural diversity and traditions are making it to Hungary. Hungary's Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning was officially unveiled this March. It provides opportunities for cultural exchange and language learning.

The founder of the school Li I-ying (李怡瑩) noticed that Hungary had a large number of young expatriates and they had few options for where their children could learn Chinese.

At this center, students focus on learning traditional form characters used in Taiwan and partake in activities like dumpling making and traditional dance classes. The number of students enrolled has increased to 41 including many Ukrainian refugees.

Cultural exchange is a key part of being a part of the community here. At a recent performance, Hungarian students were invited to share their traditional dance after which everyone learnt an indigenous Taiwanese dance.

Li says that Taiwan celebrates diversity and different cultures and she hopes to encourage her students to do the same.
