Taiwan’s National Central Library held a book gifting event with Zurich’s public library, Pestalozzi-Bibliothek Zurich (PBZ) on Monday. The event marks a step further in Taiwan’s efforts in international collaboration.

Director General of Taiwan’s National Central Library, Tseng Shu-hsien (曾淑賢) says Taiwan gifted around 50 books in total, including children’s books, and books on art, history, geology, and culture of Taiwan. Tseng expresses her gratitude to Swiss officials during the event, and also welcomes further collaboration with open arms.

Officials attending the event include the director generals from both libraries and the representative office of Taipei in Switzerland. Swiss officials said they also look forward to having more exchange and collaboration with Taiwan.

The PBZ is Zurich’s public library system and has 14 branches throughout the city. Over one million people use the library system annually. Swiss locals will have a better chance to learn more about Taiwan with books from Taiwan available now.
