Protesters from China's 'white paper' movement are still unsatisfied that the government has not admitted to the mistakes of strict 'zero-COVID' policies.

Covid restrictions in China have relaxed following discontent from citizens but protesters are hoping to take it one step further. According to a report by The New York Times, protesters are angry that no apology has been made by the government. They feel that the strict measures resulted in unnecessary deaths and suffering.

A reporter who participated in the Shanghai protests says she feels the deaths caused from three years of  'zero-COVID' policies were too big of a sacrifice.

The New York Times also reported that the 'white paper' protests have provided hope for many Chinese citizens. The article said that more people have motivation to take matters into their own hands moving forward.
