Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council showcased Taiwanese honorees of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 Innovation Award Wednesday in Taipei.
The Consumer Electronics Show is an annual trade exhibition held each January in Las Vegas. It is one of the largest and most prestigious events of its kind.
Ninety-six companies will represent Taiwan at this year’s edition. Among them are 10 honorees of the Innovation Award from diverse fields, such as medicine, wearable devices, and information security. They are associated with Taiwan Tech Arena, a group established in 2018 through public-private partnership, which aims to foster innovation and connect startups with investors.
At a press conference ahead of CES, head of the National Science and Technology Council Wu Tsung-tsong (吳政忠) said that Taiwan hopes to attract technological innovators and become a leader in technological advancement. Wu said that he hopes to accomplish that through projects like the council’s Tech Innovation Excellence Award.
