A woman conducts a libation ceremony in front of the restaurant she works at. Before pouring out the rice wine in a circle onto the ground, she raises the small red cups up to eye level toward the street, bows three times, and toasts the departed. After pouring the liquid in a libation in a circle onto the ground, she clears the table to her right behind her, returns the offerings inside, and straightens things up.
On the stool just in front of the table with offerings, there is a small basin of fresh water, plastic mug, clean towel, mirror, toothbrush, and tube of toothpaste. The provisions demonstrate concern and serve as a washroom for ghosts to cleanse themselves with before consuming the offerings. At the conclusion of the ceremony, she too uses the items to wash up with, thus showing that both mortals and immortals have closely related needs.
