President Tsai Ing-wen has said that her administration will lead Taiwan forward as the country faces global challenges. Tsai shared her thoughts in a Facebook post on Monday.
In her post, Tsai reminded people of the new policies going into effect in 2023. These policies include tax cuts, higher basic salaries, and various measures to benefit the public aimed at reducing basic household costs.
Additional measures include a subsidy of up to NT$9,300 (US$303) for the purchase of an electric scooter. Another subsidy of up to NT$3,000 (US$98) is available for trading in old air conditioners and refrigerators for newer, more efficient units.
The president called on the public to take advantage of the new benefits and wished everyone a safe and prosperous new year.
