The Digital Ministry has sent officials and donated electronic devices to Ukraine as part of a mission to create a better educational environment. The ministry announced on Monday that it is working together with Taiwan's Foreign Ministry, electronics corporation Acer, and the Ukrainian Catholic University.
Digital Minister Audrey Tang (唐鳳) visited Lithuania and met with officials there last Wednesday. During their meetings, both sides made a plan to provide middle schools in the Ukrainian city of Lviv with better access to electronic equipment. The donations include generators, laptops, and tablets.
Minister Tang spoke via video recording at the donation ceremony on Sunday and said technology can help create a better future. She added that political issues shouldn't get in the way of working towards this cause.
Tang says donating computers and other devices will help Ukrainian students continue to learn and connect with the rest of the world. She says she looks forward to cooperating more with Ukraine and has invited the country to attend digital democracy discussions in the future.
