Taiwan’s representative in India Baushuan Ger (葛葆萱) and other personnel participated in a vintage auto show on Sunday. The 56th Statesman Vintage & Classic Car Rally was held in New Delhi. It was the first large outdoor event organized by Taiwan’s representative office and The Statesman news agency.
More than 1,000 people attended the show, which featured over 170 vintage Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Bugatti, and other cars.
The representative office set up a large Taiwan tourism board at the venue to promote Taiwan culture, tourism, and cuisines. The Statesman also published a special edition entitled "Taiwan the Heart of Asia.” It features Taiwan's warmth and friendliness in addition to coverage of Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum, the Shilin Night Market, and sky lantern culture.
India is Taiwan's 16th largest trading partner, and the two countries have been cooperating in the fields of trade, technology, and medical care. Ger says India is the birthplace of Buddhism, and Buddhism is an important faith for the people of Taiwan. He adds Taiwan and India have unlimited potential for cultural tourism and religious exchanges, and he hopes that this event will enhance those possibilities.
