Two of Taiwan’s attractions were listed in the top ten most searched cultural landmarks in the world on Google Maps in 2022. Those two landmarks are both in Taipei: the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall placed sixth and the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park placed seventh.
Google Flights search rankings rated Tokyo, Japan as Taiwanese travelers’ most popular overseas destination for this year’s Lunar New Year holiday. Other destinations in Japan in the top 10 included Osaka, Sapporo and Okinawa. As for visiting other countries and cities overseas, high on the list are Seoul, South Korea; Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Singapore.
Google also showed that the Taichung High Speed Rail Station was the location that the Taiwanese people most searched for when planning their itineraries. The results also showed that the Zhinan Temple in Zhushan, Nantou County was the most popular temple visited. The main god there is the God of the Land or Tudi Gong.
