These red mountain cherry blossoms are blooming right now in Alishan. People can view the popular flowers and even do a little bird watching as they travel along Alishan Highway. Spring weather is upon us and it’s a great time to get out and enjoy fresh air and spring flowers.
Nature photographer Su Chia-hong (蘇家弘) says people can come see both mountain cherry blossoms and the famous Japanese kawazu-sakura cherry blossoms right along Alishan Highway.
Those who enjoy the lighter variety of white Formosan cherry blossoms can see those too, right along Mihu Trail. These delicate buds make up a beautiful array of white blossoms sprinkled with pink.
The Alishan Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off on March 10 but why wait? Now is as good a time as any to enjoy one of Taiwan’s most enchanting sights.
