Taiwan aims to continue strengthening its national security and cybersecurity. That’s the word from President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on Friday at a cybersecurity awards ceremony held as part of the COMPUTEX Taipei trade show.

Tsai said that Taiwan has already been working hard to promote a more resilient digital economy. She points to the increase in quality of Taiwan’s high tech products, including more secure network hardware and microchips.

She says the award recipients this year exemplified the international recognition Taiwan has been receiving for its cybersecurity innovations. Tsai said she hopes more Taiwanese brands can enter the international market, and that the government will do its best to support such efforts.

Tsai says the next phase of government support will include cultivating more talent and creating more comprehensive cybersecurity policies. She says she hopes to collaborate with the cybersecurity industry to ensure that Taiwan remains a reliable and safe country.
