President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) says she hopes to sign a tax agreement with the United States which will eliminate double taxation and increase cross-border investment and trade. Tsai made the comment on Wednesday, when she awarded US-Taiwan Business Council honorary Chairperson Paul Wolfowitz with the Order of the Brilliant Star.
Wolfowitz said at the ceremony he was honored to receive this recognition. He said he hopes to provide support for further economic development in Taiwan and maintain peace in the region.
