Taiwan looks to expand investment opportunities in Lithuania
Lithuania's Vice Economy Minister Karolis Žemaitis

Taiwan is looking to expand investment cooperation opportunities in Lithuania. Taiwan’s Economic Ministry and Lithuania’s trade representative office held a seminar on investment opportunities in Lithuania on Tuesday.

Taiwan’s Deputy Economics Minister Chen Chern-chyi (陳正祺) and his Lithuanian counterpart Karolis Žemaitis were present at the event. Chen pointed out that this year has been full of challenges due to geopolitical tensions, the US-China trade war, and inflation. He says these issues call for more collaboration between the public and private sectors of both countries to build a resilient supply chain.

Chen says relations between Taiwan and Lithuania have been warming rapidly over the past few years and there’s been a rise in industrial cooperation. Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Lithuanian Laser Association signed an MOU to jointly develop laser technology at the two countries’ second economic dialogue on Monday.

Žemaitis says Taiwan and Lithuania are in the same boat, and they can develop faster and further if they work together against global economic challenges.
