Trained soldiers rush forward under the command of their officer. In response to changing military tactics, Taiwan's army is increasing the intensity of its military shooting practices.
One reporter says in addition to the prone shooting position, soldiers will also practice shooting in the standing and kneeling positions.
Soldiers will fire more rounds per training session and practice moving between obstacles. They will also learn how to deal with weapon malfunctions.
Army Major Chang Chia-hua (張家華) says the army made the changes to simulate real battleground conditions. The army also says one-year conscripts will undergo the same training starting next year.
One soldier adds that the new shooting training program will help build fitness and stability for combat.
There may be more training changes to come as Taiwan tries to increase its military readiness to respond to any foreign threats.
